A 17 year old student was shot twice by a classmate in the cafeteria of Mitchell High School on Monday, 2/11. Last Thursday, a 5th grade elementary school teacher was shot by her estranged husband while her class watched! What are your thoughts on the vocational school shooting? A female student shot and killed 2 other female students and then killed herself in one of the classrooms. ...it was very interesting that one of the students actually took control and started telling other students what to do. Oddly enough, it was not good advice, but it was more than the staff did!

My daughter's school does not have a procedure when picking up students from school that I feel is very safe. What are some ideas that I can recommend to the school on policies that are working elsewhere. Right now, it seems, that anyone could just walk in a get a child with out much notice and it is very concerning to me. Thoughts?? Thank you.
