You are the greatest defense when it comes to securing your school.  In most
instances of school violence, fellow students were either warned, concerned or
aware of the intention to harm others and wreak havoc.  Alerting a member of
the school staff to such security threats does not constitute "tattle-telling",
"back-stabbing", or "betrayal."  Quite the contrary.  It is not only your duty, it is
your obligation to yourself and others in the school.  All of the security in the
world is not as effective as a single, conscientious student that understands
the difference they can make by communicating possible security threats to
trusted teachers or staff.
Cameras will not solve our security issues; metal
detectors won't stop the shootings; bomb dogs are not the answer to
perpetuating safety in our schools - student awareness and communication is
the strongest defense any school can have!
